Overnight Support FAQ’s
-
Overnight support can benefit any family, but may be especially beneficial for:
first-time parents
parents experiencing sleep deprivation or anxiety
families with multiples
parents wanting to establish newborn healthy sleep habits & routines
anyone wanting additional reassurance and rest during the newborn stage
foster or adoptive parents who may not have or be on work-leave yet
Many families simply value having a calm, experienced presence overnight while they adjust to life with a new baby.

Overnight support is typically 8–12 hours to allow for meaningful, uninterrupted rest.

Yes. While I will remain available and responsive throughout the night, I will sleep in small stretches when baby is settled and it’s appropriate to do so. Resting throughout the night allows me to continue to provide high quality care as well as ensures my safety during my commute home.
-
Yes. Overnight support is tailored to your feeding goals and preferences. If breastfeeding, I will bring baby to you for feeds and then settle baby back to sleep afterward so you can maximize your rest and recovery.
-
Most families provide space in the nursery, living room, or guest room. Typically I will stay in the same room as baby to ensure I pick up on early waking and hunger cues in order to keep the rest of the household calm and quiet.
